Dr. Lauren Meinke grew up in Sweetwater, Texas, before heading to Texas Tech University for her undergraduate degree and then earning her Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee.
After moving to the Austin area in 2008, Lauren began working at the San Marcos clinic in 2009 — and never left. Over the years, she became a trusted part of the community, building relationships with patients and families across the region.
When the previous owner retired in early 2025, it was a natural next step for Lauren to take the reins. Blanco River Eyecare celebrated its grand opening under new ownership in April 2025, carrying forward a tradition of personalized, compassionate eye care.
Lauren's husband, Dr. Jerad Meinke, OD, also practices optometry at Meinke Family Eyecare — making this a true family of eye care professionals serving the San Marcos and Kyle communities.
